Camp Big Sky in West Central Illinois
A free day camp with overnight options for individuals of any age with any disability and their families, friends and caregivers
Camp Big Sky, located in northern Fulton County, is a regional destination for people of all ages and abilities to experience outdoor and educational opportunities from May through October:
- Day activities are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at no cost to visitors
- Overnight camping in cabins and tents is available for a nominal fee on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays only
Camp Big Sky is located at 17185 McCord Road in Fairview.
The camp serves children and adults with developmental, physical, cognitive, sensory and age-related disabilities.
The day camp is available at no cost to any person of any age with any disability and their families, friends and caregivers. In addition to caregivers that accompany participants, Camp Big Sky volunteers are also available to help campers by request.
All accommodations and activities are totally accessible and include:
- Hiking accessible trails
- Fishing
- Docks and recreational boating
- Wheelchair swing
- Discovery wagon
- Restrooms, cabins and pavillions
- Campfire areas
Camp Big Sky provides equipment, facilities, supplies and accommodations.
Campers must bring food and drink for their visit, any medications and may want to bring other suggestions included on Camp Big Sky’s list of “What to Bring” for day or overnight stays.
The camp also hosts groups of campers from residential agencies, support groups, school districts, families and individuals.
