Camp Big Sky 2024 Annual Fishing Tournament in West Central Illinois
A free fishing tournament for individuals with disabilities and fun family activities such as face painting, pontoon boat rides, games and more!
Join Camp Big Sky for its 15th annual fishing tournament and family-friendly event on May 18 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The rain date will be May 19.
Camp Big Sky’s 2024 annual fishing tournament will feature fishing and a whole lot more!
The fishing tournament for individuals with disabilities will kick off at 8 a.m. The parade of boats and weigh-in ceremony begins at 10:30am.
Potential tournament participants must be able to:
- Use a spin casting rod and reel (training and equipment will be provided)
- Be able to fish for three hours in a boat
- Attend one of the two on water trainings
- Love fishing and will participate for the full day
During and after the tournament, families can participate in a wide range of activities, including:
- Bank fishing
- Face painting
- Lawn games
- Kite flying
- Arts and crafts
- Pontoon boat rides
The Canton Elk’s Lodge will also provide a cookout lunch for a donation.

The public is welcome to attend. Admission is free, and all proceeds will benefit Camp Big Sky.
The camp provides accessible outdoor recreational opportunities to children and adults with disabilities and their family, friends, and caregivers all at no cost for day activities.
