“Calm Waters” Event for People with Disabilities and Veterans at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago
An opportunity for people with disabilities and veterans to experience the Shedd Aquarium in a calmer and welcoming environment
Shedd Aquarium will host “Calm Waters” on Oct. 5 from 9 to 11 a.m.
“Calm Waters” is an exclusive event for guests with disabilities and veterans to explore exhibits and experiences in a comfortable and accepting environment.
Modifications for the event include:
- Limited capacity
- Streamlined entry with advance registration
- A low-sensory animal spotlight with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation
- An animal encounter opportunity
- Complimentary 4D Experiences during the event

- $39.95 for adults (Chicago resident $19.95)
- $29.95 for children ages 3 to 11 (Chicago resident $14.95)
