Explore the complexities of disability with the City of Rockford Poet Laureate and the author of “Range of Motion”

Join the City of Rockford Poet Laureate for a conversation with author Brian Trapp on Sept. 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rockford Public Library’s Nordlof Center.

City of Rockford Poet Laureate Adam al-Sirgany will host an engaging and thoughtful discussion with “Range of Motion” author Brian Trapp.

Range of Motion is a work of literary fiction inspired by Brian’s life as a twin to a brother with severe cerebral palsy. The novel explores the complexity of:

  • Disability
  • Caregiving and family
  • The lifelong bond between twin brothers

Brian is also the Director of Disability Studies at the University of Oregon and Editor-in-Chief of Northwest Review. Kirkus Reviews has praised his novel as a “resonant and indelible family saga.”

The discussion will be thoughtful, unconventional and often, funny.

The event is free and open to the public.
