Big Rigs and Boots: Touch-a-Truck Event and Hoedown in Highland Park
Free “touch-a-truck” event featuring a quieter half-hour experience for people with sensory sensitivities and an afternoon hoedown filled with music and fun for all ages!
Join the Park District of Highland Park for two family-friendly events on Sept. 27.
- Catch the “Big Rigs and Boots: Touch-a-Truck Event” for its quieter, sensory-friendly experience from 9:30 to 10 a.m. The event will end at 11 a.m.
- The “Highland Park Hoedown” will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Big Rigs and Boots” is a fall favorite for kids who love things that go vroom!
Enjoy climbing aboard and:
- Exploring an exciting lineup of trucks, tractors and emergency vehicles
- Meeting the people who operate them
- Making memories
- Snapping some great photos
The event will also feature Habitat for Humanity’s Adopt-a-Stud program. Participants can color a wood stud for a future house and learn more about Habitat’s work in Lake and McHenry Counties.
After the big rigs move out, the “Highland Park Hoedown” will kick off with:
- Music
- Dancing
- Festive fall fun!
Both events are free and open to people of all ages and abilities.
