Bee Connected American Sign Language (ASL) Family Event Series – “Buzzworthy Storytelling Bash” in Palos Hills
Free in-person events for people of all ages to strengthen their American Sign Language (ASL) skills, build connections and support loved ones who are deaf or hard of hearing
Moraine Valley Community College’s “Bee Connected: An American Sign Language (ASL) Family Event Series” will wrap up with a “Buzzworthy Storytelling Bash” on Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participants will experience the magic of storytelling in ASL.
Deaf storytellers will bring children’s books to life in a way that’s fun, expressive and interactive.
Families will enjoy meeting Deaf community members in a welcoming space and:
- Engaging in hands-on activities
- Learning new signs
- Leaving the event with many ideas for continuing learning at home
The event is free and open to the public.
Register online for the “Buzzworthy Storytelling Bash.” Participants must register by Aug. 20.

Moraine Valley Community College (MVCC) offers free American Sign Language (ASL) classes for families who have children ages birth through high school who are deaf or hard of hearing. Deaf instructors teach the classes in sign language and written English.
MVCC serves residents in Moraine Valley and Cook County.
