17th Annual Empower All Abilities Conference in Springfield
A free conference dedicated to supporting and celebrating students of all abilities and their families
Springfield Public Schools and a supportive community of advocates will host the 17th annual “Empower All Abilities Conference” on Nov. 15 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This in-person conference for families, educators and professionals focuses on connecting, learning and building skills to support students of all abilities.
Highlights will include keynote speaker Dr. Shelley Moore. Shelly is the creator of “Five Moore Minutes,” a website with videos dedicated to empowering teachers, schools and classrooms to support all learners. Using just five-minute chunks, she provides insight into:
- Resources and research
- Professional development activities
- Advocacy tools for parents
- Inspiration for sharing, clarifying the message, and supporting the goal to make education accessible to children of all abilities
The conference will also offer:
- Browsing booths and talking with local, state and national vendors and service providers
- Networking opportunities
- Engaging sessions
- Hands-on activities designed to empower and inspire
