Sickle Cell Disease Awareness and Support Event in Springfield

The Village Cares and the National Marrow Donor Program will host a “Sickle Cell Disease Awareness and Support” event on June 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kumler Outreach Ministries in Springfield.
This in-person event aims to improve health literacy and provide practical tools for managing sickle cell disease.
The event will feature opportunities to connect, learn and explore resources with speaker Jess Cox, RN, BSN, CPN, and Pediatric Sickle Cell Nurse Case Manager at OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute. She will share:
- The latest information on the disease
- Information on treatment and management approaches
- Resources to help with your journey
The event is free and will include lunch and giveaways.
