Virtual – Young Adult Writers Workshop in Chicago
A free, six-week writers workshop via Zoom for young adults ages 18 and older with and without disabilities
Tellin’ Tales Theatre in Chicago will host the Young Adults Writers Workshop from May 21 to July 12. The workshop will be on Zoom every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The program culminates in a live performance on July 12 at Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro in Chicago.
This inclusive workshop will coach young adult writers with and without disabilities, ages 18 and over, in developing a personal story around the theme “Coloring Outside the Lines.” The workshop will focus on celebrating the bold, unconventional stories that only you can tell.
Tellin’ Tales Theatre Program Director Stephen Donart, who has a master’s in theater and curriculum instruction and design, will guide participants through:
- Developing collaboration skills and specific writing techniques
- Finding and developing a unique voice
- Perfecting performance skills to draw your audience in
Stephen has more than 30 years of experience teaching, directing and performing for schools and the professional stage.
The “Coloring Outside the Lines” young adult writers workshop is free.
