Overnight “Camp I Am Me” in Ingleside for Young Burn Survivors
Have fun at Illinois’ free summer camp for young burn survivors
Join the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance (IFSA) for a week filled with fun at “Camp I Am Me” from June 14 to 20 at YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside.
This free one-week camp experience provides young burn survivors with opportunities to:
- Share common experiences
- Meet new friends
- Play without feeling self-conscious about their scars
- Build skills to help with their physical, psychological and emotional well-being
Campers will have a blast exploring a wide variety of camp activities, such as:
- Swimming and boating
- Arts and crafts
- Archery and sports
- Games and more!
The camp is free for campers ages 8 to17 who have experienced a burn injury requiring hospital or outpatient treatment. Enrollment is subject to medical approval.
