Camp Big Sky’s 2026 Fishing Tournament and Family Fun in West Central Illinois
The whole family will have fun making community connections and exploring activities at this free fishing tournament for individuals with disabilities
Join Camp Big Sky for its 17th annual fishing tournament and family-friendly event on May 16 from 7 to 11:30 a.m. The rain date will be May 17.
Camp Big Sky’s 2026 annual fishing tournament will feature fishing and a whole lot more!
- The fishing tournament for individuals with disabilities will kick off at 7 a.m.
- The parade of boats and weigh-in ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The tournament pairs participants with local tournament fishermen in a Bass-Masters style competition. Tournament fishermen volunteer their time, expertise and boats for the day.
Potential tournament participants must be able to:
- Use a spin casting rod and reel (the event will provide training and equipment)
- Fish for three hours in a boat
- Enjoy fishing and participate for the full day
During and after the tournament, families can participate in a wide range of activities, including:
- Bank fishing
- Face painting
- Lawn games and kite flying
- Arts and crafts
- Pontoon boat rides
The Canton Elks Lodge will also provide a cookout lunch for a donation.
The public is welcome to attend. Admission is free, and all proceeds will benefit Camp Big Sky.
