“Garden Party” at the Sensory Garden Playground in Lisle

Play, explore and have fun making new friends at free Summer Saturdays events at Sensory Garden Playground

The Wheaton Park District will kick off Summer Saturdays at the Sensory Garden Playground in Lisle on May 16. Summer Saturdays take place on the third Saturday of each month through Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Start your summer with fun at a whimsical garden party celebrating Western DuPage Special Recreation Association’s (WDSRA) 50th Anniversary!

Partygoers will enjoy:

• Exploring the playground fragrance garden in full bloom
• Crafting and drawing a flower to create an anniversary poster for WDSRA
• A flower scavenger hunt that will include fun facts about WDSRA and more!

The Sensory Garden Playground combines sensory-integrated playground equipment with areas for gardening and exploration. The Sensory Garden Playground is autism-friendly certified.  The 37-acre facility is being developed in phases as funding becomes available.

Summer Saturday events are free, but a $5 donation per family is suggested.
