Join Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center for “From School to Home: Keeping Behavior Supports Consistent” on Dec. 18 from 12 to 12:30 p.m.
This 30-minute training is for caregivers and school professionals who want to strengthen home-school collaboration regarding Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Participants will receive a brief overview of what a BIP is, how replacement behaviors are taught at school, and practical examples of how families can reinforce these new skills at home.
The session will also highlight:
- Simple strategies educators can share with caregivers
- Ways parents can adapt BIP supports for daily routines
- The importance of consistency across environments
- Resources for families and professionals
- Guidance on using the “parent training needed” option in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) to support families in implementing behavior strategies at home
