Join this free webinar to learn about smart home technology and options to help increase independence for people with disabilities

The Administration for Community Living’s (ACL) Housing and Services Resource Center, Office of Interagency Innovation and Assistive Technology  Program will host “Smart Home Technology Solutions for Individuals With Accessibility Needs” on Zoom on Sept. 16 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Equipping a home with a smart home system and assistive technologies (AT) designed to enhance safety and accessibility can help increase independence and autonomy for people with disabilities and older adults.

Understanding and exploring options can be overwhelming.

Join a panel of smart home and AT professionals for an overview of smart homes and the many technology options that can help increase independence. The panel will also explore:

  • Common barriers to obtaining smart home technologies
  • Programs and grants to overcome these barriers and access smart home technologies
  • Future advancements
  • Ongoing research and how individuals, providers and consumers can be a part of the technology design and improvement process

The webinar is free. Anyone interested in learning more about smart homes and technology options to increase independence is welcome.
