Join the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) for this month-long webinar series to support caregivers of individuals with Down syndrome. The series will cover a variety of important topics from Oct. 2 through Oct. 30.
Learn about “Workplace Accommodations for Adults with Down Syndrome: What Caregivers Need to Know” on Oct. 9 from 12 to 1 p.m.
Lisa DeMoss, Job Accommodation Network (JAN) Cognitive/Neurological Specialist Consultant, will provide caregivers with practical guidance on how to support a loved one with Down syndrome or another intellectual or developmental disability (IDD):
- Navigate disability disclosure
- Request job accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Access and use JAN resources
- Learn from real-world examples of effective accommodations for individuals with intellectual disabilities
Caregivers will leave with a stronger understanding of workplace accommodations, how the interactive process works, and how to empower their loved one to advocate for support in the workplace.
