Chicago Public Library Hosting Events to Celebrate Disability Pride Month
Join the Chicago Public Library in July for a wide range of free events celebrating Disability Pride Month
The Chicago Public Library will host “A Musical Celebration of Disability Pride Month” on July 29 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Join Chicago drummer and bandleader Tommy Carroll for an interactive musical celebration of Disability Pride Month.
This event will allow everyone to start learning to express themselves and their identity through sound, rhythm and music.
Tommy’s presentation will include:
- Sharing stories about the development of his disability identity and experiences as a totally blind professional musician
- Providing a short demonstration of percussion instruments
- Opening up the floor for the audience to enjoy participatory drumming
The event is free and open to people of all ages and abilities.
