A free conference at multiple Illinois sites for parents of children who are deaf and hard of hearing

Join the Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach Services for the “South of Seventy (I-70) Parent Conference”  on Sept. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Parents and caregivers of children who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) will attend sessions focused on:

  • Early intervention
  • Preschool
  • School success

DHH youth 13 and older and professionals working with children with hearing impairments are also welcome to attend the conference.

The conference is free and in-person only. Childcare will be available for children ages 3 to 12.

Please submit any accommodation requests at least three weeks before the event date. American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be available at all three conferences.

Parents can also choose from two other conference options. Both will run from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on:

  • Sept. 13 – the “South of Eighty” Parent Conference will be in Jacksonville
  • Oct. 11 – the “North of Eighty” Parent Conference will be in Oak Forest
