Free, fun and engaging webinar series to help students ages 14 to 22 with disabilities build skills for success at school, work and social settings

Join Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center (Family Matters PTIC) for “Social Skills to Social Success” from June 18 to July 23. This free, six-week virtual series will meet on Zoom each Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.

This student-centered, interactive series will help youth and young adults with disabilities practice and improve their communication, relationship and self-regulation skills.

The series will begin with “What Are Social Skills & Why Are They Important?” on June 18 at 1 p.m.

Experienced Family Matters PTIC staff will teach the half-hour sessions. Teens and young adults ages 14 yo 22 will participate in:

  • Fun and engaging activities
  • Real-life scenarios and practice strategies from the comfort of home

Each week, participants will continue to build skills essential to thriving in school, work and social settings:

  • Session 2 (June 25) – Feelings vs. Emotions
  • Session 3 (July 2) – Self-Regulation & Appropriate Public Behavior
  • Session 4 (July 9) – Basics of Conversations: Social Skills in School and the Workplace
  • Session 5 (July 16) – Social Skills: Friendships
  • Session 6 (July 23) – Self-Advocacy

Register on Zoom for “Social Skills to Success.” Space is limited. Participants will receive a Zoom link after registration.
