An opportunity to explore advanced technical careers for high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Join the Rochester Institute of Technology’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) to explore “Advanced Tech Careers” from July 19 to 24. The program will start on Saturday afternoon and end on Thursday morning.

Advanced Tech Careers is a fun and educational summer program for students who are deaf and hard of hearing to learn more about technology and the different careers they can pursue in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Students will engage in activities designed to challenge their minds and spark creativity. Campers will work with a group of 25 to 30 other students and instructors:

  • Coding programs and games
  • Designing and building a high-tech gadget
  • Experimenting with different technologies in a modern lab
  • Learning what type of tech career suits your interests and skills

Students will also have opportunities to have fun and socialize with other students. Students will stay in a dorm room on campus with a roommate and enjoy group activities in the afternoon and evening.

The program is open to students who are deaf or hard of hearing and entering grades 10, 11 or 12 in fall 2025. Students who have attended other programs at RIT/NTID and enjoy technology are welcome to apply again.

The cost is $850 and covers room, board and all activities. Partial scholarships are available based on financial need. If you need financial assistance, please contact ntidoutreach@rit.edu.
