The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will host “Scams, Tax Related Identity Theft and Identity Protection Identification Number PIN Program” on Dec. 3 from 10 to 11:15 a.m.
National Tax Security Awareness Week is a great time to learn about common consumer and tax-related identity theft scams and steps you can take to protect yourself.
Webinar participants will cover:
- Methods for reporting and recovering from identity theft
- Understanding how identity thieves trick their victims into providing personally identifiable and financial information
- Using the IRS Identity Protection PIN Program
- Avoiding bad tax return preparers
Time will also be available for asking questions.
