Webinar – “Scams, Tax Related Identity Theft and Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (PIN) Program”

Learn how to protect yourself and loved ones from scams, tax related identity theft and more during National Tax Security Awareness Week

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will host “Scams, Tax Related Identity Theft and Identity Protection Identification Number PIN Program” on Dec. 3 from 10 to 11:15 a.m.

National Tax Security Awareness Week is a great time to learn about common consumer and tax-related identity theft scams and steps you can take to protect yourself.

Webinar participants will cover:

• Methods for reporting and recovering from identity theft
• Understanding how identity thieves trick their victims into providing personally identifiable and financial information
• Using the IRS Identity Protection PIN Program
• Avoiding bad tax return preparers

Time will also be available for asking questions.
