Celebrate the Black disability community and enjoy a fun and essential accessible experience for all

Join the University of Illinois Chicago’s Disability Cultural Center (DCC) and the Chicagoland Disabled People of Color Coalition for Accessible Juneteenth 2024 on June 18 from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

The theme for the fourth annual Accessible Juneteenth celebration is Black National Anthems. Celebrate the Black disability community while making Juneteenth a fun and essential accessible experience for all!

Juneteenth 2024 will kick off with DomoMoon’s rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”  You can share your talents in singing, spoken word, playing instruments and more in the open mic showcase beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Other activities will include:

  • Music by DJ Matt
  • Performances from RISE, Victoria Boateng, Cherlnell Lane, Complex Theory and other special guests
  • Food
  • Giveaways
  • Resources and vendors, including Black-owned and disability-owned/friendly organizations and businesses

Sign up for the open mic now or at the event in person. Please note that spots are limited.

American Sign Language (ASL) and captioning will be available for the open mic and showcase portion. The event will require masking in indoor spaces.
