Dixon Springs Agricultural Center Youth Gardening Class

Free summer youth gardening classes at Dixon Springs Agricultural Center

Join the University of Illinois Extension staff and volunteers at Dixon Springs Agricultural Center (DSAC) for the Youth Gardening Class on June 27 from 9 to 11 a.m. Classes are on Thursday mornings during June and July.

The youth gardening classes at DSAC are a great way for children to learn about gardening and the outdoors.

Learn about succulents and help with garden tasks, including:

• Harvesting and weighing produce
• Watering plants
• Planting seeds

Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and bring a water bottle. Wearing sunscreen and using bug spray is also important.

Meet at the Extension office, just north of the Administration Building at the DSAC. Classes are free and open to all youth. The Extension donates everything grown in the garden back to the community.

Register for the DSAC Youth Gardening Class online and see the class schedule and future topics. You must register to attend. Space is limited.
