Virtual – “2024 Special Education Parent Summit”

A virtual conference for parents, students and guardians covering special education services, system navigation, conflict resolution and transition readiness

Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center (Family Matters PTIC) will host the two-day “2024 Virtual Special Education Parent Summit” on:

  • Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This collaborative conference will bring together experts from across the state. Parents, students and guardians will learn about:

  •  Navigating special education services
  • Understanding the step for conflict resolution
  • Strengthening special education, advocacy and transition supports
  • Preparing for transition

Presenters will include:

  • The Illinois Guardianship and Advocacy Commission
  • The Illinois Department of  Human Services’ Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS)
  • The Illinois Elevating Special Educators Network (IESE)
  • Equip for Equality
  • The Arc of Illinois Ligas Family Advocate Program
  • The Family Resource Center on Disabilities
