Parent Support Group and Webinar Series
Join this free support group, a partnership between the Division of Specialized Care for Children (DSCC) and UIC’s Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities Program (IL LEND), for “Navigating the COVID-19 Pandemic” on Jan. 19 from 7 – 8 p.m. The group will meet via Zoom on the third Wednesday of the month through April.
This new support group and educational webinar series is open to all parents and caregivers of children enrolled with DSCC. It provides an online space to access educational workshops and share concerns, resources and strategies.
Workshops topics may include:
- Respite care
- Feeding
- Ventilator maintenance/cleaning
- Transportation
- Navigating relationships with staff
There is no cost to participate. The discussion portion of the support group will include a facilitator for Spanish-speaking families.
