“IEPs: Planning and Development” Workshop in Peoria
A free, two-part educational training focused on Individual Education Program (IEP) and transition planning for high school-aged youth, young adults and their parents
Family Matters Parent Training & Information Center (FMPTIC) is hosting “IEPs: Planning and Development” on Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This is the first of two workshops focused on helping students move from school to adulthood. Both sessions will be at the Peoria Public Library- Lakeview Branch, 1137 W. Lake Ave., in Peoria.
This workshop will focus on IEP planning and development. Topics will include:
- Tips for effectively participating in IEP meetings
- Transition in the IEP
- The transition components of employment, independent living, postsecondary education or training, and community involvement
Part two of the workshop is “Transition from School to Adult Services” on Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Peoria Public Library – Lakeview Branch.

Register online to attend these workshops. The deadline to register is Sept. 10.
Please register early. A minimum of 15 people must sign up for the presentation to take place.
