“Transition From School to Adult Services” Family Training Workshop in Peoria

A free training workshop on transition from school to adult services for youth in high school, young adults and their parents

Family Matters Parent Training & Information Center (FMPTIC) is hosting “Transition From School to Adult Services” on Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This workshop will be at the Peoria Public Library, Lakeview Branch, 1137 W. Lake Ave., in Peoria.

In this workshop, participants will look at the different pieces that need to come together for the transition from school to adult services.  This training will include information on:

• Transition in the Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• The transition components of employment, independent living, postsecondary education or training, and community involvement
• The transfer of parental rights

Sign up online to attend. The deadline to register is Oct. 7.

Please register early. The event needs a minimum of 15 people to sign up.
