YMCA Camp Independence for Teens With Spina Bifida in Ingleside
A traditional overnight camp experience for teens ages 14 to 19 with spina bifida and other neurological disabilities
Make a lifetime of memories at YMCA Camp Independence! Overnight Camp Sessions will run from June 15 to Aug. 8. Check-in is on Sunday at 2 p.m. Check-out is on Friday at 2 p.m.
Three sessions for teens ages 14 to 19 with spina bifida and other neurological disabilities will take place in June, July and August:
- Session 1 on June 15 – 20
- Session 4 on July 6 – 11
- Session 7 on Aug. 3 – 8
Campers will learn alongside others with different abilities in an environment where they can be successful. They will enjoy:
- Playing sports
- Creating arts and crafts
- Singing around the campfire
- Boating and more
Campers will be active in their own care.
The cost is $1,850 per camper per session. Financial assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis while funds last. After registering for camp, please email campduncan@ymcachicago.org to request a financial assistance package.
