The Arc of Illinois‘ Life Span Program and Family-to-Family Health Information Center invite you to “Work Incentives Planning & Assistance (WIPA) Program and More” on Nov. 14 from 12 to 1 p.m.
Are you interested in working (or are you already working) and want to learn how employment affects your government benefits and savings?
Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP)-WIPA Program Director Britney Godwin will cover the disability benefits the Social Security Administration (SSA) offers and more.
The WIPA Program serves individuals currently receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Title II benefits.
Participants will learn about:
- How work earnings affect federal and state benefits
- Work incentives or deductions that SSA offers
- Healthcare options for beneficiaries who are working
- The “Ticket To Work” program
Britney will also discuss how to get a referral for WIPA services.
The Illinois Assistive Technology Program provides WIPA services to 67 counties in Illinois through a cooperative agreement with the SSA.
