An overview of how employment affects your government benefits as well as the work incentives that are available to help you save money

Connect to Community is hosting this free webinar on Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (WIPA) on Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Are you interested in working (or are you already working) and want to learn how employment affects your government benefits and savings?

The WIPA is a federally funded program of the Social Security Administration (SSA) created to help individuals receiving Social Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) make informed choices about being employed.

Ron Mulvaney, WIPA program director at the Illinois Assistive Technology Program, will provide information on programs to help you work and save money:

  • Impairment Related Work Expenses (IRWE)
  • Health Benefits for Workers with Disabilities (HBWD)
  • Student Earned Income Exclusion (SEIE)

The Illinois Assistive Technology Program provides WIPA services to 67 counties in Illinois through a cooperative agreement with the SSA.

Register online by Oct. 6.

Participants will receive a Zoom link via email a day before the event. If you do not receive the link, please contact ConnectToCommunityInc@gmail.com.
