A free webinar series for individuals with disabilities, parents and professionals to learn from experts and advocates in the autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities field

Join the University of Illinois Chicago’s Institute on Disability and Human Development, the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (IL LEND) and The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP) for “What we Know about Services in Illinois for People with IDD with Co-Occurring Mental or Behavioral Health Disabilities?” on May 18 from 12 – 1 p.m.

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are three to five times more likely to have a mental and behavioral health issue (MH) than the general population.

Service barriers documented by both The Arc and the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors point to the need for multi-disciplinary cross-training of IDD and mental health professionals.

In this webinar, participants will hear from the UIC team from the Illinois Training Initiative to Support People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities with Co-Occurring Mental or Behavioral Health Disabilities (Dual-Diagnosis) about services available for people with dual-diagnosis in Illinois and the efforts to establish training across the DD and mental health systems statewide.

The webinars are free to attend and free continuing education units (CEUs) are provided.

Register in advance online.
