A free webinar for parents and guardians on the important role of parents in the assistive technology (AT) assessment process

Join UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago’s Infinite Potential through Assistive Technology (Infinitec) for “What Part Can I Play in Assistive Technology (AT) Assessment?” on June 8 from 12 to 1 p.m.

AT assessment is a process. Your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) team collects all sorts of information to make the best decisions about how to support your child to do new things or do things better with AT.

Independent Consultant Gayl Bowser, M.Ed., will help participants understand the AT assessment process.

The discussion will include:

  • Contributing to the plan for an AT assessment
  • Using the SETT Framework (SETT stands for student, environment, tasks and tools)
  • Identifying specific information and data to help the IEP team make decisions about AT

The webinar will wrap up with participants brainstorming about the information and data for your child’s IEP team to make the best AT decisions.

See the webinar series flyer for more details.

Register online to attend.

Part three of the series “We have AT. What Now?” will be on June 15 from 12 to 1 p.m.
