The University of Illinois Chicago’s Institute on Disability and Human Development (IDHD), The Autism Program (TAP) and Illinois LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) are hosting “Using Trauma-Informed Practice With Individuals With Disabilities Who Have Experienced Human Trafficking” on Nov. 17 from 12 – 1 p.m.
This webinar will provide an overview of the intersection of human trafficking and disability.
Speakers Jody Haskin, Susan Kahan and Jessica Hinman will discuss how clinicians who are working with survivors of human trafficking need to provide care that is:
- Inclusive
- Accessible
- Trauma-informed
In addition, information and resources on how to provide trauma-informed services to this population will be covered.
The information is applicable to disability providers and human trafficking providers.
