A free, virtual kickoff event for Think College Awareness Week and efforts to expand access to college for students with intellectual disabilities

Think College Awareness Week is April 24-28.

Join Think College, a program of the Institute for Community Inclusion UMass Boston, for the kickoff of the “Think Higher. Think College.” campaign on April 24 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“Think Higher. Think College.” is a weeklong public awareness campaign focused on expanding access to college for students with intellectual disabilities. Each day will feature virtual learning events for students, families, educators and transition professionals.

The kickoff event will feature filmmaker Dan Habib’s new video promoting access to higher education for students with intellectual disabilities.

Habib and Think College’s Clare Papay will also talk with three students from the video:

  • Derrick Medina of College of Florida Keys
  • Nolan Smith of Kansas University
  • Lauryn Woolfolk of University of North Texas

The students will share about their college experiences and answer your questions.

All of the events are free and open to the public. You can register with your Zoom or email account.

American Sign Language (ASL) and live captions will be available for each event.
