Down syndrome (DS) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be challenging disabilities separately. When combined, the challenges can be quite complex and oftentimes misunderstood.
Join speaker and researcher Katie Frank, Ph.D., for this discussion on:
- Understanding basic facts about DS and the DS behavioral phenotype
- Determining what ASD looks like in individuals with Down syndrome
- Identifying treatment strategies and resources that are beneficial for individuals with the DS-ASD diagnosis and their families
Frank earned her doctorate in Disability Studies from the University of Illinois Chicago. Her experience includes treatment and evaluation, conducting training, research and presenting locally and nationally.
