This free presentation will discuss strategies, resources, and tips to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The HealthMatters Program and UIC’s Department of Disability and Human Development are hosting a free webinar on “Talking About COVID-19: Resources for People with IDD.”
The presentation is scheduled for 1 pm. June 16.
It will discuss strategies, resources, and tips to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to understand what’s going on with COVID-19, why we need to take precautions and how will protections help us. Additionally, it will discuss how to advocate for legal rights and reasonable accommodations.
The learning objectives:
- Identify strategies and resources to support people with IDD to understand issues with COVID-19
- Use strategies and resources to discuss COVID-19 precautions with people they are supporting and how precautions can help us
- Discuss information about legal rights and reasonable accommodations with people they are supporting to access health care during the COVID-19 pandemic
