Webinar -“Student Involvement in IEPs”
A transition webinar series for youth and young adults with complex support needs, their family members and professionals
Join Family Matters Parent Training & Information Center’s (FMPTIC) for its “Transition Series for Those with Complex Support Needs.”
The series kicks off with “Student Involvement in IEPs” on Oct. 12.
Each webinar in this series will have two sessions that participants can choose from:
- A daytime session from 12 to 1 p.m. OR
- An evening session from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Participants may register for either session.
Presenter Megan Best will help participants with complex needs and their caregivers walk through the steps needed to prepare for the transition to adulthood.
This session will focus on giving students with disabilities an active and meaningful role in their Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, including those with significant support needs. Megan will provide participants with:
- Ways to increase student participation and leadership during IEP meetings
- Strategies to increase student voice in decisions related to transition services
