The Family Resource Center on Disabilities (FRCD) is hosting “Six Principles of IDEA: Special Education Rights” on Aug. 17 from 6 – 8 p.m.
The IDEA (Individuals With Disabilities Education Act) is the law protecting the rights of children receiving special education services. Parents, students and professionals are invited to participate in this training covering several important aspects of this law including:
- The evaluation process
- Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)
- Procedural Safeguards
