Webinar – “Planning for the Future for Children and Adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities”
A webinar series for parents, guardians and professionals on various parts of planning for the future for loved ones with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD)
The Arc of Illinois is hosting a webinar series on “Planning for the Future for Children and Adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities” via Zoom on Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Join presenters who have professional experience and are the parents or a sibling of a child with disabilities to learn about:
- “Special Needs Estate & Future Planning” with Brian Rubin and Benjamin Rubin from 9 to 11 a.m.
- “PUNS/Home Based Services” with Shirley Perez from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Rubins are a father and son team. Brian has a son with autism and has four decades of experience serving the legal and future planning needs of Illinois families of children and adults with IDD and/or mental illness. Benjamin or “Benji” has been with the law firm since 2010 and is an active member of numerous disability and sibling leadership boards and committees.
Shirley Perez is the Program Director of The Arc of Illinois Family Support Network and Ligas Family Advocate Program. She has more than 40 years of hands-on experience advocating, working with individuals and their families with disabilities and navigating the state system as both a professional and as a parent caring for an adult child with a developmental disability.
