The Family Resource Center on Disabilities (FRCD) is hosting “Navigating the Transition Plan Special Education Rights” on Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Preparing your child to transition to adulthood can be a daunting task.

This webinar will walk parents and young adults through the initial steps of the transition process in the Illinois special education system. Discussion topics include issues relating to transitioning from school to adult life and post-secondary education and:

• Defining transition plans and its components
• Understanding transition services
• Tips for parents preparing their child for adulthood

Participants will also leave this session with more knowledge about community resources and the importance of building those connections.
