A free webinar for young adults, parents and professionals providing real-life tips for individuals with learning disabilities on making the transition to college

The Family Resource Center on Disabilities (FRCD) next webinar in its bullying victimization series is “Making the Transition to College.” It will be held via Zoom on Jan. 11 starting at 7 p.m.

The webinar features David Carson, the author of “Making the Transition to College,” which is used by over 45 colleges and universities. He also has a learning disability and failed out of three schools before graduating from college.

Carson will share how he struggled with reading and writing in school. He learned at age 25 that he had a learning difference (written expression disorder) and was also considered gifted. Once his writing issue was identified, Carson found out how he learns, what accommodations help him and how to build on his strengths.

Carson will provide young adults heading off to school encouragement and practical, real-life tips for making it through college.
