Connect to Community is hosting a Friday Forum on “Making Housing Happen: One Family’s Story” at 11 a.m. on March 12.

This free event is for families, educators and service providers to gain useful information related to the transition process for youth with disabilities as well as life in the community after educational entitlements end.

The March 12 forum will provide information on finding or creating a housing situation that meets the needs of youth with disabilities.

Ellen Bronfeld, a parent, advocate and co-founder of Illinois Parents of Adults with Developmental Disabilities Unite (IPADD), will share the story of her unique journey to find a living arrangement that would allow her son Noah to thrive.

Ellen will also talk about the often difficult but necessary process of letting go as our adult children begin to build a life separate from our own.

The event is free but advanced registration is required by March 10 on the webinar registration page.
