Webinar: Knowing and Navigating Your Rights as the CPS Parent/Guardian of a Student with a Disability

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is presenting a live webinar for parents/guardians of students with disabilities.

The webinar will air on Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The webinar will provide the following information:

• ISBE’s 2017-18 Public Inquiry into special education practices and procedures within the Chicago Public Schools and the resulting Corrective Action Plan.
• Your rights as safeguarded by federal state laws that cover special education practices and students with disabilities.
• Navigating the IEP process and ensuring that you are a meaningful participant before, during and after IEP meetings.
