A free parent advocacy training webinar in English and Spanish

Child’s Voice is hosting a parent advocacy training workshop “IDEA & Advocacy: Protecting the Parent/School Relationship” on Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Presenter Andrea Marwah with the Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach Department is the parent of a daughter with hearing loss. She is also an Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) liaison for the Illinois Guide By Your Side Program.

Andrea has a special interest in educating parents and professionals on matters concerning working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

This presentation will include:

  • An IDEA overview
  • Special education rights
  • Advocacy tips for families who have children with multiple disabilities that include hearing loss

Andrea has published nationally on topics surrounding children who are deaf and hard of hearing. See Andrea’s biography for more details.
