A free webinar to help families discuss and start creating a future plan to help people with disabilities make a better transition from the family home

The Arc of the United States, in partnership with ONEgeneration and funded through the Archstone Foundation, is hosting “Future Planning: It’s Possible and Necessary” on June 30 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Planning for the future is important for all families. Thinking about the future can be challenging and emotional.

A future plan can help people with disabilities make a better transition from the family home and provide caregivers the peace of mind they need.

This webinar will guide participants through getting these discussions started and the steps your family should take to create a future plan.

Presenters will cover:

  • Barriers that people and their families may face in planning for the future and how to overcome those challenges
  • Why it is critical for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers to discuss the future
  • The six core areas of what’s included in a future plan

Information will also be provided about free resources available from The Arc’s Center for Future Planning that can help facilitate these discussions.

This webinar will be captioned and interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL).

Register online to attend the webinar. The recording will be available to view on demand for those who register.
