Join the University of Illinois Chicago’s Institute on Disability and Human Development, the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (IL LEND) and The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP) on Zoom for “Everyday Self-Care: How Self-Care Can Support Caregivers, Providers, and Self Advocates.”

Speaker Aubrey Thornton is a licensed clinical social worker and a sibling of an individual with a disability. Her presentation will include:
- An overview of self-care and why its necessary
- Completing a self-assessment
- Identifying areas of improvement for self-care
- Implementing strategies to take care of ourselves
Aubrey has years of experience working with individuals with disabilities across the lifespan and their families. She works at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) on a research project through the Department of Pediatrics and Disability and Human Development and is currently a LEND trainee at UIC.
