A free webinar for families and caregivers who suspect their child may need special education services but aren’t sure where to start
The Family Resource Center on Disabilities invites you to their Lunch and Learn Webinar “Evaluation: What Parents Should Know to Get Started” on Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Is your child struggling in school?
Evaluation is an excellent place to start if you suspect your child may need special education services. Evaluation is one of the first steps to obtaining an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for your child.
Participants will learn about the purpose of evaluations as well as:
- How and when to request an evaluation
- The parents’/guardians’ role in the evaluation process
- Your child’s rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)
