A webinar for immigrants with a disability on steps to take now to prepare for a possible future emergency

Join the Disability and Immigration Task Force of Illinois, UIC Insititute on Disability and Human Development, Access Living, Illinois Department of Human Services and the Statewide Independent Living Council for “Emergency Preparedness for Immigrants with Disabilities: What you Need to Know” on Dec. 8  from 2 – 3:30 p.m.

If you are an immigrant with a disability, learn what you should do now to both physically and mentally prepare for a possible emergency.

Participants will explore what a disaster could actually look like in Illinois with featured speakers:

  • Thane Hunt, Advocates for Access
  • Shaylin Sluzalis and Germán Parodi, The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies
  • Lilian Jimenez, Illinois Office of Welcoming Centers

The event will provide American Sign Language (ASL) and CART captioning as well as Spanish and Chinese interpretation.
