The Arc of Illinois and the Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays (RCADD) are hosting a lunchtime webinar on “Ditch the Diapers: Toilet Training for Children With Special Needs.”
The presentation is scheduled for 12 p.m. Jan. 12.
The presenter is Laura Brown, M.Ed., Disability Specialist at the RCADD.
Ms. Brown has extensive experience in designing and implementing interventions and differentiating instruction to meet children’s individual needs. As a former special education teacher focusing on students with autism, she has worked in public schools and the therapeutic day school setting.
Participants will learn answers to these common questions:
- How to know if my child is ready?
- What do I need to set my child up for success and how do I use visuals?
- Do I need to use a reward or motivator?
- How do I tackle common problems such as being scared to flush, using too much toilet paper and other issues?
Closed captioning will be available in both English and Spanish.
