Webinar – “College Transition 101”
A webinar to help students with disabilities and their parents make a smooth transition from high school to college
Join the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA) for “College Transition 101” on Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This webinar will provide an overview of things that parents and students need to know to facilitate a smooth transition from high school to college. Presenter Julie Yindra, director of student access services at Hofstra University, will walk participants through the:
- Differences between special education and 504 accommodations in high school and reasonable accommodations mandated by federal civil rights law
- College search and admissions process for students with learning disabilities
- Changing role of parents
- Responsibilities of students as independent learners and self-advocates
The webinar is free for LDA Members and $15 for nonmembers.
