Webinar – “Augmentative or Alternative Communication for Parents”

Infinitec is hosting “Augmentative or Alternative Communication for Parents” on Oct. 25 from 12 to 1 p.m.

This free webinar is for family members, guardians or home-based providers that would like to learn more about AAC (augmentative or alternative communication).

Speech Language Pathologist and AAC Specialist Heather Miller will introduce participants to the categories of AAC and provide examples of items within these categories.

She will discuss the definitions of AAC and which students will benefit from AAC supports. Participants will also learn:

• The vocabulary specific to AAC and its use
• How to identify the features of low-, mid- and high-tech AAC devices and supports
• How to access communication devices

Resources for associated research will also be available.
